Tuning protocol- what is it?
I. Introduction Facilitator briefly introduces protocol goals, norms, and agenda. II. Teacher Presentation [5 minutes]. Presenter describes the context for student work (strengths, needs, conferencing notes, etc.) and presents samples of student work. III. Clarifying Questions [5 minutes maximum]. Participants ask questions of teacher about the student work
IV. Feedback [7 minutes maximum]. Participants among themselves share responses to the work and its context; teacher-presenter is silent. Facilitator may lend focus by reminding participants of an area of emphasis supplied by teacher-presenter. proposed strategies V. Debrief/Reflection [5 minutes]. Teacher-presenter reflects on and responds to those comments or questions he or she chooses to. Participants only answer questions from teacher-presenter.
Kathy presented JC. JC's higher need is in sequencing and details. JC will be moved to Linnea's group.
Tina presented AE. AE also has a higher need for sequencing so she will also be moved to Linnea's group.

Intervention groups will be in 3 rounds, we have about 9 weeks until the writing assessment.
Intervention groups will be given writing prompts their last 2 days of their rounds to assess their learning and to assign them to new groups. Teacher and intervention teacher will grade prompt during PLC that following Thursday.
1st prompt- Getting ready for the musical
2nd prompt-Something you did during spring break.
